Never Leave Me: The Rant
Warning: Spoilerish to the amount of 10.
– Drew Goddard for “Master of the Universe”. Can a man love another man in a non-homosexual way?
– This was the first time I wasn’t rolling my eyes at a Season 7 Spike/Buffy conversation. It’s a miracle. I wasn’t annoyed.
– Good to see Jonathon again, even if he is dead.
– It’s the FIRST EVIL! Hey, give us all a gold star. I think pretty much everyone called it after episode 1. It was still directed the right way, and definently very good to draw it out for nine episodes, regardless if we all knew or not.
– Who is the “real” vampire? You’d think his name was Danthazar, seeing as though that was the name of the seal he came from, but others have better theories. Mr. Eric Hendrix thinks it’s Cane from Cane & Abel. If it is, that could be really interesting. I ‘cane’ not be ‘abel’ to control myself. I’ll be here ’til 5, tip your waitress.
– I’m with everyone – I loved the good/bad cop routine with Anya and Xander. It’s fairly certain that the majority wants them back together again…meaning it won’t happen.
– Did the council go boom? That would be kind of anti-climactic after the schpiel Quentin made.
– “Neo”…Ha!
– I don’t agree with the majority, I think the ending was perfect. It left me wanting more. And I am not at all disappointed with what came out of the seal, because I’m not entirely sure of what it can do, or who it REALLY is. All I do know is that it was creepy, and the first is creepy, and when you have 30 questions you need answered you know it’s a great season.
Final Verdict: Loved, loved, loved it. “Never Leave Me” gave us just enough information to tide us over until January, and it was wise in doing so. This was episode 9 and we already have a lot we know…and even more we don’t know. At this time last year, the only thing we were questioning was if Buffy came back wrong and if she and Spike were just humping for the heck of it. That’s not exactly what story arc dreams are made of. Thank JOSS for Drew friggin’ Goddard.

Rant Over.
