News Suck 1.1: Cons and Crap.

– Moonlight Rising, one of the more popular Whedon-centric conventions, has postponed this year's convention. Many people feel that the reason behind this is because of what happened at Flan II. I would assume it's extremely low ticket sales and nothing else. The Whedonverse is definitely slowing down in terms of fan involvement and new product, so it only makes sense that this would happen. Hell, look at the site you're on right now. We widened our subject content to "anything".

– Not every con is taking the exit door (yet). New York Comic Con will have some Buffy mainstays joining in the festivities. Nicholas Brendon, Juliet Landau and Bianca Lawson will be guests this year. Not only that, but Stephen Colbert will be there! If that's not enough to want to go, what else do you need? The con starts February 23rd and ends on the 25th. No bears allowed.

– Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) was recently asked if she could get Sarah Michelle Gellar on her show, what would she think of it. "Oh, of course we’d take that [opportunity]! That would be amazing. Yeah! [Laughs]" I don't know why this is news, considering how much Sarah detests television. I mean, it's as randomly hypothetical as it gets. This is the problem with allowing just anyone be able to do interviews. There should be a screening process to see if the interviewer has legitimate questions and/or doesn't eat glue as a tasty treat.

– USAToday.com says that Willow and Tara are probably TV's lead lesbian couple. It's 2006, maybe we haven't progressed so much in our tolerence. The Willow/Tara relationship has been over for 4 years now, and they're still the lead couple? Yeesh.

This just in (the short stuff) —

– Christian Kane's band KANE won "New Country Artist of the Year" in some poll on some website. Somewhere someone cares about this.

– Nathan Fillion is still just an actor.

– Emma Caulfield is in a new Lifetime movie, "A Valentine Carol" on February 11th. It sounds about as femmie as it can.

– It appears that you can, in fact, stop the signal.

– Someone made this page called "Brownquote of the Day". You can put quotes from Firefly and Serenity on your myspace or livejournal pages. This is news, because you could never use the quotes before. They were illegal or something. You couldn't just grab the quotes from some random website. You have to do it this way with the awesome BROWNQUOTE OF THE DAY TECHNOLOGY!

– Angelus came in at #3 in Entertainment Weekly's "Top 10 TV Villians" list. Surprisingly, he was only #5 in their "Top 10 Sexual Predators" list.

– 411 Mania ranks Nathan Fillion #4 on their "Most Underappreciated Actors" list. Yes, no one appreciates Nathan. That's why he has crazy people probably sleeping on his lawn.

– Whedonesque will still post anything.

– I believe in Winona.
