Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Monster Book

Don’t let the title fool you; there are more than just “monsters” in this book. The titles of the chapters speak for themselves:
- Demons
- Vampires
- Magic Users
- Primals: Werewolves, shapeshifters, and animal-people
- Ghosts
- The Walking Dead
- Bogeymen
- Invisible People
- Faith and the Human Monster
Each chapter looks at the real life development from myths and folklore to Buffyverse baddies, the use of similar “creatures” in pop culture, and of course, bios of characters from the show that fit in these categories. These bios are great if you’re trying to remember if the baddie in question actually died or just high-tailed it out of Sunnydale. The down side is that this volume only covers the first four seasons of the show. There is also no alphabetical index, so if you don’t know the name of what you’re looking for (or it seems to defy category, such as The First), you’ll have to do some page turning.
