David Boreanaz

Twelve seasons as Seeley Booth on Bones, seven as Jason Hayes on SEAL Team, and next, NBC's Rockford Files reboot.

After the show

Angel ended in May 2004, and a year later Boreanaz was back on Fox as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth opposite Emily Deschanel on Bones (2005 to 2017). The procedural ran 12 seasons. He became a producer on the show from season three and directed at least one episode a season from season four onward.

Film work in those years included The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005), The Mighty Macs (2011) as coach Ed Rush, and Officer Down (2013). He voiced Hal Jordan in the animated Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) and starred in the miniseries Full Circle (2013).

CBS then cast him as Master Chief Jason Hayes in SEAL Team, which premiered in 2017. The series moved to Paramount+ for its later seasons and ran seven seasons, ending in 2024. Boreanaz was also a producer and directed episodes.

In 2010 a Bones crew member filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Boreanaz; her attorney asked for it to be dismissed in March 2011, saying the matter had been resolved.

On February 14, 2021, days after Charisma Carpenter’s statement about Joss Whedon’s conduct on Buffy and Angel, Boreanaz posted to her on Twitter: “I am here for you to listen and support you.” He added, “Proud of your strength.” Carpenter replied that she appreciated the support he had shown her privately as well.

Lately

After SEAL Team finished its run in 2024, Boreanaz signed on in February 2026 to star in a pilot for NBC’s reboot of The Rockford Files, written by Mike Daniels. He plays James Rockford, a private investigator who returns to work in Los Angeles after serving time for a crime he did not commit. NBC gave the show a series order in May 2026 for the 2026 to 2027 season, with Michaela McManus, Felix Solis and Jacki Weaver in the cast.

Boreanaz has been married to Jaime Bergman since 2001. Behind the camera, his directing and producing work on Bones and SEAL Team has run alongside his acting for nearly two decades.
